Helping leaders breakthrough to the next level of performance, influence, and impact is what we do.  Our experience—and lots of research—suggests that a key challenge to making those breakthroughs is leading the people side of business. Managers may be experts in operations or marketing, but leading the people side of business is something else entirely.

We’re here to help. We’ll partner with you focus on three areas of leadership—leading yourself, leading your team, and leading the organization.  We’ll be both your listening ear and your challenging accountability partner. We’ll share practical tools with you that you can use to apply enhanced people leadership skills on the job. We will work with you to:

  • Frame up your Leadership Compass—your purpose, values, and goals—and to use that Compass as you make decisions and manage your time and priorities. We’ll help you think through your “why”.

At Leading People Partners, we believe that context is King. That means that as we work with you, we’ll ensure that the leadership approaches, tools, and coaching we provide are customized to meet the needs of your company and culture. If, for example, you work in an organization that already has a set of leadership competencies or leadership development programs in place, we will work in concert with those frameworks to make sure that you get the most relevant, impactful experience possible that is aligned with those frameworks.

Warning: our coaching programs are not for everyone. We only accept clients who are willing to sign—and follow—a Coaching Agreement, where clients agree to apply things they have learned and ask for feedback from co-workers.

Our Coaching Programs

QuickPivot Coaching Program

This program is for individuals at all levels and experience who want to jumpstart their careers, performance, and personal brand. The QuickPivot coaching program includes 5 coaching sessions, unlimited email coaching during the coaching period, and the Leadership Tools Package. The objective of this program is to help individuals quickly “pivot” to a new level of effectiveness.

PeopleSide Leadership Coaching Program

This program is for individuals with management and leadership responsibility who want to improve their personal influence, leadership effectiveness, and organizational impact. We will focus particularly on developing personal leadership skills. The PeopleSide Leadership Coaching program includes 6 months of personal executive coaching, at 3 sessions per month, unlimited email coaching during the coaching period, and the Leadership Tools Package.

HR Career Accelerator Coaching Program

This program is for HR professionals with at least 2 years’ experience who want to accelerate their HR careers and to enhance their personal HR professional brand. The HR Career Accelerator Coaching program is specifically focused on HR professional development and helping HR professionals improve their influence and impact within their organizations. Program includes 6 months of coaching, 3 sessions per month, unlimited email coaching during the coaching period, and the Leadership Tools Package. 

PeopleSide Leadership Advisory Services

These services are designed for leaders, business owners, and HR executives who would like a Leadership, Change, Culture, and Talent expert to “bounce ideas off of” on a regular basis.  We are available by both phone and email to support clients as needed on an on-going, unlimited basis for 6 to 12 months. Tools and templates will be provided as needed based on the issues being discussed.

Fees

We charge a set program fee for our programs, which includes all coaching sessions, tool-kits, assessments, and interviews, and includes unlimited email coaching during the coaching period. Travel, if required, is billed separately. Billing is monthly after a 25% project initiation fee.

Todd Averett, Executive Coach

Your coach, Todd Averett, has an extensive background in leading the people side of business and coaching executives. He was the VP of Global Human Resources and Director of Management Development during his 20-year tenure at Payless ShoeSource, a global, multi-billion-dollar footwear retailer. Not only has he coached many C-level executives, he’s personally lead teams with team members located across the world. He has a Master’s Degree in Organizational Behavior from Brigham Young University, and has written a number of articles on leadership, change, and talent. He has appeared as a guest on radio programs, is a regular speaker on leadership topics, and is the co-host of the “Leading the People Side of Business” podcast. Prior clients include organizations such as CivicPlus, Futamura, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas, Sunflower Marketing, Huhtamaki, the United Way of Greater Topeka, and the Kansas Association of Community College Trustees.
